Installation with Squarespace
The line of code below is a sample. Your own line with your ID is in your account.
In the “Code Injection” menu into the “Footer” field.
Requirement: A plan with code injection. The English Squarespace help (as of 16 Sep 2026) names Core, Plus, Advanced and some older plans; the German version also names Basic. What your account shows is decisive.
Not possible here: Plans without “Code Injection”. If you later switch to such a plan, according to Squarespace the code stays in place but no longer has any effect.
Step by step
- In your Squarespace website open the “Code Injection” menu. The Squarespace help links to it directly; depending on the version it is with the website tools or in the advanced settings.
- Paste the line of code into the “Footer” field. Squarespace loads what is there on every page before the end of the page.
- Click “Save”.
- Open your website in a new window without being signed in. The assistant appears at the bottom edge.
